Introduction

Christ’s Hospital of Abingdon provides assistance to the people of Abingdon in four main ways:

  1. It provides accomodation in its Almshouses for residents of the town over the age of 55, who are of good character and are in need.
  2. It makes grants for the purchase of essential items to those of limited means referred to it by care agencies, or by other professionals.
  3. It supports local schools via annual grants and can sometimes assist with individual fee support for pupils in independent education.
  4. It makes occasional grants to local organisations deemed by the Governors to offer significant benefit to the residents of the town.

In additon, the Charity owns and maintains Albert Park for the use and enjoyment of the people of Abingdon - please see Albert Park
